10) Tahoe lake

Tahoe Lake is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada of the United States.It's depth is 501 m(1643 ft).Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America.It is the 2nd deepest lake.Lake Tahoe is listed as the 26th largest lake by volume in the world.






9) Sarez Lake


Sarez Lake is a lake in Rushon District of Gorno-Badakhshan province, Tajikistan.It's depth is 505 m(1657 ft).The lake formed in 1911, after a great earthquake, when the Murghab River was blocked by a big landslide.





8)Hornindalsvatnet Lake


Hornindalsvatnet Lake is Norway's and Europe's deepest lake, officially measured to a depth of 514 metres (1,686 ft). The village of GrodÃ¥s lies at the eastern end of the lake in Hornindal and the village of Mogrenda is located on the western end of the lake in Eid.






7) Toba Lake


Toba Lake is a lake and super-volcano.It's depth is around 529 m(1736 ft). It is Located in the middle of the northern part of the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Lake Toba is the site of a supervolcanic eruption that occurred an estimated 69,000 to 77,000 years ago, a massive, climate-changing event. It is estimated to have been a VEI 8 eruption.





6)  Matano Lake


Matano Lake also known as Matana, is a natural lake in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is the deepest lake in Indonesia and the 6th deepest lake in the world. It's depth is 590 m(1936 ft). Lake Matano is home to many species of endemic fish and other animals as well as many plants.






5) Crater Lake


Crater Lake is a caldera lake located in the south-central region of the U.S. state of Oregon.It is the deepest lake in U.S.A.. It's depth is around 594m(1949 ft). It is the main feature of Crater Lake National Park and famous for its deep blue color and water clarity.





4) Great Slave Lake

Great Slave Lake is the second-largest lake in the Northwest Territories of Canada , the deepest lake in North America at 614 metres (2,010 ft). The lake shares its name with the Slavey First Nations.






3) Malawi Lake


Malawi Lake is an African Great Lake and the southernmost lake in the East African Rift system. It is the third largest in Africa and the eighth largest lake in the world.This lake has depth of 706m (2316 ft). This great lake's tropical waters are reportedly the habitat of more species of fish than those of any other body of freshwater on Earth, including more than 1000 species of cichlids.





2) Tanganyika Lake


Tanganyika Lake is an African Great Lake. The lake is situated within the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the geographic feature known as the East African Rift, and is confined by the mountainous walls of the valley. It's depth is 1471m(4826 ft).





1) Baikal Lake


Baikal Lake is the world's oldest lake at 25 million years, and deepest lake. It is Located in the south of the Russian region of Siberia, between Irkutsk Oblast to the northwest and the Buryat Republic to the southeast, it is the most voluminous freshwater lake in the world, containing roughly 20% of the world's unfrozen surface fresh water. It's depth is 1741m(5712 ft).
